Realview TV Announces Launch of Valdosta State University Virtual Campus Experience

Featuring an interactive campus map -- navigable through a birds-eye, 3-D view of VSU’s campus -- the Virtual Campus Experience player also includes five video channels that offer a comprehensive overview of student life.

From academics to Blazer athletics, to unique campus traditions and accommodations, viewers learn all about VSU life – and in just a few clicks of a mouse.

“We’re really delighted with the project,” said Realview TV Vice President – Education Channel. “It offers a unique and detailed idea of what a prospective student can expect at VSU.”

After meeting with VSU representatives last year, Cable Sowerby said the school had a clear idea of its marketing goals from the outset.

“VSU has many distinguishing traits which we felt the videos could showcase,” said Cable Sowerby. “For example, its small classes create a dynamic learning environment that most state universities can’t offer.”  

Both parties also felt the project should prominently feature VSU’s students, who were interviewed on a range of subjects and act as tour guides for “virtual visitors.”

“It was an excellent collaborative effort,” says VSU Director of Marketing, Mary Gooding, “Everyone involved did a great job. We had a fabulous on-campus team and we are indebted to our partner Realview TV who has delivered a truly outstanding customized online video experience for prospective students as well as for all our current VSU friends and fans!” 

“Today’s prospective student completes a major portion of his/her college search online, relying on the resources available there to narrow the choices to their top candidates. In many cases, they apply without ever physically walking on the campus. We needed to be able to show all the advantages of VSU in online video to connect with the students we want. Video is definitely their preferred format.”
