Santa Clara University (SCU) is not just another private college with strong Catholic traditions. It has a breathtaking northern California location with an enviable year-round climate, notable alumni, including NBA star Steve Nash, and good relations with Silicon Valley, making graduates highly employable.
Little-known facts like these, however, won’t be secrets for much longer – thanks to a recently launched video package aimed at re-introducing Santa Clara to a worldwide audience.
"It really is a unique institution that may have been overlooked by some prospective students," said Courtney Cable, Vice President – Education Channel at Realview TV "The videos go a long way to helping deliver the Santa Clara experience to prospective students."
The quaint nearby town, lush campus and surrounding natural beauty are among the visual teasers woven into ‘video chapters’, in which students prominently feature throughout.
"We wanted to get away from a sterile, PR-type video; that's why we included so many students," said Cable. "They sell SCU better than anyone."
Even traditional aspects of college, such as academics and accommodations, are discussed from student perspectives and are uniquely packaged to give viewers full navigational control when browsing.
While SCU’s religious leanings are showcased it fits neatly into a digest of content and, in keeping with the format, related through personal experiences.
"A viewer will come away [after seeing the videos] with a favorable opinion of the school, and will therefore be more likely to consider applying," said Cable. "As a package, it sends out a positive, transparent perspective while ensuring excellent viewing quality."
